The idea of Health & Happiness is one that has grown from the knowledge, experiences and feelings of experts living in Highland. We have listened to stories, looked at research and explored what life can be like. The partners are people that came together to make things better and fairer. They used the information gathered to help guide them to work together to make changes happen in Highland; but the changes we want to see can only happen if everyone works together to make experts feel healthier and happier! The partners will help make sure that Health & Happiness continues to be the ideas of experts and controlled by experts.
The Health and Happiness Partners include people from:-
Key's Highland Tenant Advisory Group (HTAG)
This group is made up of service users of Key Housing - 2 people from each location where Key provides a service in the Highlands. Service users take an active part in the organisations decision-making. HTAG meets 6 times a year. Members ask other service users about their views and keep them up to date about the things that are discussed at HTAG meetings. Two members of HTAG join members of other Regional TAG's to sit on the National TAG where they work alongside Key's Committee.

People First
There is a network of People First groups across Highland and are run by people with a learning disability. Advisors and supporters help them in their work. Their aim is to help people speak up about the things that are important to them, such as where they live, being bullied, being treated differently because of their learning disability.

Key Housing
Key is a voluntary organisation which provides support services to some experts in the Highlands. They also provide accommodation to some of these people and to other people who do not need support. Key's vision has always been that experts should have the opportunity to build a life of their own with the active support of family and friends. Key's role is to provide a foundation for this of good quality support and accommodation.

NHS Highland
This is known as a statutory organisation, which means it is guided and funded by our central government to provide services. NHS Highland has to look at how our health services are planned and how well they are doing.

Highland Council Education, Culture & Sport Service
This service provides a wide range of opportunities for participation in cultural and leisure activities in the Highlands. This is achieved in a variety of ways through providing and managing facilities and services through partnership with various voluntary groups and organisations.
The range of leisure opportunities provided includes: archives, the arts, art galleries and venues; caravan and campsites; film and media; community radio, events, marketing and promotions, tourism development, Gaelic development, grant aid , museums and heritage, community halls, libraries and library support services, sports development, amenity picnic sites and recreation areas, sports pitches and pavilions, stadia, running tracks, golf courses, sport and leisure centres and swimming.

Highland Council Social Work Services
This is a statutory organisation. They have to make sure that adults with learning disabilities and their families have advice, help, support, services and facilities, (such as day centres) in Highland. They also have an important part to play in making sure adults with learning disabilities are part of their local communities and part of making decisions about their future.

Our Partners all have a lot of experience of working together and share their knowledge and experience within the group. They come from a wide range of places in the community. This is important, because they can help open closed doors for us! To make sure each partner understands their role in the group and what they are responsible for, a Partnership Agreement was written. This explains how each person in the group will work together to make Health & Happiness as successful as possible.
